FHE: Pumpkin Carving 101

For family home evening last night we decided to carve the pumpkins we had picked from the pumpkin patch.  We decided instead of carving 4 pumpkins, Dan would help Cooper carve one and I would carve Bailey's.   We stripped her down and began to get ready...she was so excited!  Here she is with "Bailey's pumpkin":
Here she is hugging the pumpkin:
Cooper initially wanted to help scoop out the guts of his pumpkin, but then decided to let his dad since the guts were too slimy...he was pretty excited though that he got to help his dad carve the pumpkin.
Bailey was all about scooping out the guts, with her hands, with the little scoop...she kept saying, "My turn mama, your turn mama..."and was really good about sharing.  Here she is diving right in:
Once again, angry birds are a favorite around here, here is Cooper's ice bird (wait until tomorrow and you see his costume...I'll give you a hint, he's the ice bird! :)
I thought I was being an awesome mom when I found some Monster's Inc. pumpkin carving patterns and picked them up for carving this year.  Yeah, not so much apparently.   Bailey was excited though and chose out "the baby" pattern, or Boo:
We are getting excited for Halloween tomorrow and will hopefully have pictures to post of costumes and trick or treating!
