July Fireworks

These last two weeks have been a whirlwind, we literally put over 1,000 miles on our van in just the last week alone!  I finally have a moment to start catching up on the blog so I thought, why not start with the 4th of July festivities?  We started celebrating early, and none of these pictures are actually from the 4th, those will come later.  For Family Home Evening a couple days earlier, we got the kids some of the snap-its to throw on the ground.  Cooper loves them and would go through a zillion boxes if I would let him.  This was Bailey's first experience with the poppers and I think it is safe to say we have another snap-it lover in the house.  Here is Coop showing off a prized snap-it:
And Miss B having her daddy show her the proper technique of snap-it throwing:
On the 3rd of July we gathered with all of our neighbors on our street and pooled our fireworks resources together to put on a good show for all of the kids.  They started the evening off early with sparklers.  The kids loved the sparklers and running around with them everywhere.  Here is Cooper, who also is a proud Canadian:
And Miss B with her first sparkler (I couldn't get either kid to look away from the flames to give me a smile...oh well!)
Here are the kids settling in for the show.  Bailey is sitting with our cute babysitter Annie (the one in the middle) and one of my activity days girls, Calli.  Poor Annie is such a tiny petite thing, when she holds Bailey you can hardly even see her!

We had such a good time and hope to do it again with all the neighbors next year! :)
