P is for presents. On Sunday (or I should say Friday-Sunday) we celebrated Father's Day with lots of family. Sadly, I have no pictures to show for it. Friday we headed down to Pleasant Grove to visit with my father-in-law and celebrate the great dad and grandpa that he is. Saturday, we went to Logan for the Gleason Family Reunion (thanks so much Brian and Joy!) and visited with family we haven't seen in years. Sunday, we celebrated our daddy, Daniel. He woke up and got to enjoy homemade waffles and received a new wallet for his Father's Day present. During sunbeams, we had the kids make candy ties for their dads. Here is a really crummy picture of one of the candy ties with a cute poem attached:
Cooper was so excited, he couldn't wait until the end of church but bolted out of class and ran straight for the library. All of the dads also got spoiled with ice cream from the ward. Can I just say that maybe one year for Mother's Day we get ice cream? Instead of a plant? :)
P is for playing! On Monday B went back to to the allergist to see how things were going. Here she is playing with the bead maze in the waiting room:
We found out over the last couple of weeks that we are allergic to two ingredients found in Eucerin, I'd spell them here but frankly, I'm not sure how to without looking at the bottle. She broke out into hives and had a horrible rash for over 4 days. Apparently, a small percentage of the human population is allergic to these ingredients and he told me to be careful when she's older because they are found in make-up and other lotions. We are still off all milk for another 6 months until we go back and re-test in December.
On Tuesday we went up to play with Grandma Gleason. She was up in Preston so we went up for a quick visit. Grandma was nice and took us out to lunch at the local Arctic Circle. Here she is posing with Coop while he eats his kiddie cone:
We let the kids play on the jungle gym for a little while. B was so excited to go through the tunnel and down the slide. Every time she accomplished this she would run over and yell, "Slide! Slide!" and clap her hands. B in the tunnel:

If you notice, B isn't exactly happy in this picture. This brings me to my 3rd P: puking. As our day progressed with Grandma, B started with a fever and ended up puking right before dinner time. She was such a miserable soul. Tuesday night, we woke up to more sickness and Wednesday she was just miserable. Wednesday morning she had a fever of 103.9 and was so lethargic. After a lukewarm bath and finally being able to keep down some Ibuprofen, her fever broke later that afternoon. She's still a miserable soul, but at least she no longer has a fever and isn't throwing up anymore. We don't know if she caught a flu bug or if she was reacting to being around some dogs and cats (her eczema today is absolutely horrible). Either way, she's on the mend and we are all happier for it.Finally, P stands for pool party. Wednesday afternoon we had a pool party for all of the activity days girls. Coop was so excited that he got to go! Daniel came home from work to watch a sick Miss B and Coop and I headed for the water. We had stations set up for the girls, there was water balloon volleyball, water balloon baseball, a slip n' slide, sprinklers, jumping on the tramp with water balloons, and trying to catch water balloons in the game 500. I don't have pictures of the girls, but here is Coop having tons of water fun. Holding one of the many water balloons before it would break in his hands and he'd cry for another one:
Trying out the slip n' slide, he insisted on going backwards most of the time:

It's only Thursday and I'm ready for the week to be over! Hopefully the weekend will bring a different kind of "P" word: peace. We shall see. :)
Oh man! I'm glad Bailey is feeling better! Poor girl. Looks like you've been having fun despite the recent sickness though! And you can bet I'll let you know if there's anything good in my book pile. You have to let me know about yours too!
ReplyDeleteOh no sounds like Bailey may have caught what my boys had. If she did then hopefully she feels better tomorrow, my boys were miserable for two days, and then seemed to do better. Though the didn't really puke. Loved thus post, and the pictures.
ReplyDeleteLove the letter theme! Your kids are so darling! We need to plan an evening together :)
