October Already?

Life certainly decided to not slow down after my last post almost 2 months ago.  Only 10 days after my last post, my grandfather unexpectedly passed away from a stomach aneurysm.  Dan was heading to Detroit for a week, so I high-tailed it to Idaho to spend a week with my parents up there.
While I didn't speak at his funeral, I was asked to give the family prayer and I put together a slideshow of pictures from his life.  Some of the fond memories I have of my grandfather are:
  • Being afraid to tell him that I had clogging lessons instead of piano lessons as he drove me clear to my piano teacher's house.
  • He was a bit disappointed that Bailey didn't come a day late on his birthday.  He told me if she had we would have had to have named her Evanita after him.
  • Always drawing up the board for the Superbowl pool.  When we were older he would let us help draw the cards from the deck to get the numbers for the sides.
  • Always asking how the drive to Preston was and talking about the road/driving conditions.  He also loved to talk politics and was pretty insistent that we vote President Obama out in November. :)
