Dan and Bret ended up putting up a tarp and digging a trench to help with the rain situation. The boys had lots of fun messing around in the trench and pulling on the tarp strings. Here is Cort showing off part of the trench:
And here is Coop pulling on the strings to get water to fall off of the tarp. I lost count of how many times we had to tell the boys to leave the tarp alone. :)We all ate yummy food while camping...cobbler, bacon, pancakes, BBQ chicken, candy....lots of candy...
Grandma and Grandpa Swenson came up on Friday night to visit and eat some of the yummy food. They also brought up delicious doughnuts and homemade banana bread for dessert. We were spoiled. The kids received glow stick necklaces that they were convinced were full of "magic" and were delighted that the "magic" still worked a little bit the next night too. :)
The boys got up and went fishing one of the mornings we were there. They came home with a couple of fish and one wet little boy that accidentally got bumped into the water. Coop was excited that Uncle Bret cooked up the fish and declared it to be his new favorite food.I love that my kids have great friends in their cousins. Growing up, I was always super close with my cousins so I'm glad to see my kids do the same. Bailey refers to Cash as "her little buddy" and they were constantly found together. Coop and Cort kept up their mischief together as well. Here they all are hanging out in Dan's hammock:
Bailey and Cash playing bullo ball and holding hands...Coop and Cort climbing trees:
Here are two of my favorite people keeping warm by the fire:
Me snagging Coop for a quick picture since I'm usually the one behind the camera:And last but not least, you have to have s'mores when you go camping! Bailey's idea of the perfect s'more is just a graham cracker and chocolate and Cort was okay as long as he didn't get too sticky! Thanks Aub and Bret for going camping, we'll have to do it again next year!
Hooray for pictures. My boys and I enjoyed looking at them all, and Cash says he's ready to go camping with his cousins again.
