Cooper's Early Birthday
All year long I have heard the words, "I want a Mickey Mouse cake for my birthday mom!" All year, until a week ago. Then, all of a sudden it was, "I want an UP house cake mom!" So, I brainstormed ideas and came up with this:
I wish I wasn't such a perfectionist, so I could just enjoy this cake for what it is, and Coop loved it...but I just saw it better in my head. Oh well....that, and buttercream frosting doesn't hold up extremely well in the heat. It made Cooper's day though and that is all that matters. He was so excited for the "balloons" and it was a must that the house have a door and stairs. We even got balloon candles for him to blow out:
I am so glad that we are done with those candles! :) He kept wanting to play with them the whole week before and ended up breaking one before we even got them on his cake. Here he is, making a wish and blowing out the candles:
A quick family shot, I can't believe my baby is going to be 3 in 7 days! :(
Of course, he insisted on eating the door with the stairs for his piece. I think this looks says, "Thanks mom, it was yummy!"
