The Making of a Mike Shirt

So, by now, if you read this blog, you know that we are *huge* monster fans in our home. We have several "Mikes" that live with us, and apparently a "Mike" is classified as any monster that contains only one eyeball. When I was in Logan a while back I went the the SEI outlet store to pick up some cheap scrapbook paper and my son fell in love with some monster iron-ons. Wouldn't you believe his luck when he found a green, one-eyed "Mike" iron-on.
Being the nice mom that I am, I picked it up for him and we prepared to make a "Mike" shirt. Coop was so excited that we got to start our day at 6:30 in the morning. Not cool. Anyway, we prepared the Mike shirt. We cut out the body and the eyeball and mouth and placed them on. Here he is pointing out the beginning of "Mike":Next, he got to choose all sorts of accessories for his "Mike," he decided that this Mike should have wings, arms, and a bandaid. Here he is proudly wearing his new Mike shirt (I should add that he slept in the Mike shirt and wore it all the next day as well...)I must apologize that all of our pictures of Cooper contain no pants. He hates to wear pants and I pick my battles. Pants are only necessary in our house when we go out in public. I'm just grateful I can get him to wear a shirt and underware. :)

On another note, Cooper is super excited for Halloween. We had to make a Halloween countdown (old-school with the paper links) to show him how many days until Halloween. He always wants to take down more than one link in hopes that Halloween will get here faster. Please note the Mike on our countdown. He insisted that a Mike be there:We have been counting down since 41 days. Halloween better hurry up and get here soon!
