Huntington Beach

6 months since my last post....wow.  My bad.  Anyway, be on the lookout for lots of new posts in the coming days.  We just returned home from California!  My mom was kind enough to come out and watch Bailey while we were gone.  I have to admit, I felt a bit guilty about leaving the baby girl behind, but it was a great vacation and I really enjoyed being able to devote all my time and energy to just one child.  Coop would still prefer to be an only child anyway, so I know he appreciated the one on one time he received with both parents.

We left last Tuesday and Coop got to experience flying for the first time.  I got a killer deal on airfare to make this possible. :)  He was probably most excited that each seat had an individual t.v. in the head rest.  He also enjoyed the little snacks of cookies, chips, and a whole can of soda that Jet Blue provided as complimentary snacks!  Here he is, plugged in and ready to go:

When we arrived in California, we headed straight for the beach.  It was sad that the weather was probably better in Utah than California that day.  Despite the wind, Cooper and Dan made a beeline for the water.  Cooper loved it!  He would have stayed in the water all day and enjoyed being splashed by the waves.

I braved the water as well, but I'm not posting pictures of me in a bathing suit on my blog.  It's not pretty. :)  We also spent time walking the beach looking for seashells, watching people attempt to surf, and watching a man look for buried treasure with a metal detector.  We attempted a quick family portrait and headed for the hotel.  Up next: Disneyland!
